Letter of Solidarity from the Anti-capitalist Left (AKL) in Germany to members of SYRIZA who voted against the Brussels Agreement
Dear comrades,
The German “Antikapitalistische Linke” in DIE LINKE supports the firm position of those SYRIZA members and MPs, who on July 15 opposed the Brussels agreement in the Greek parliament. The Brussels agreement is a brutal diktat of austerity and privatisation by Merkel and Schäuble.
The clear NO of 61% of Greek people against the blackmail of the Troika and especially the German government raised the hope of people all over Europe who want to stop the unsocial regime of cuts. The German “Left Party” (DIE LINKE) publicly supported the OXI on squares and the streets. On Friday, the majority of our MPs will vote against a third loan package and its neoliberal conditions. With her threats and financial terrorism, Merkel speaks for the interests of banks and big companies, which she wants to save with these credits. She does not speak for the workers and unemployed who have to pay for them.
The “Anti-Capitalist Left” supports your resistance against all attempts to reverse the results of the referendum or to submit to the blackmail of the institutions of the Troika. We remain in solidarity with your NO to austerity, even if this involves a break with the Euro-zone and capitalism.

Solidaritätsadresse der „Antikapitalistischen Linken“ – AKL – an alle SYRIZA-Abgeordnete, die das Brüsseler Griechenland-Abkommen abgelehnt haben
Liebe Genossinnen und Genossen,
die AKL in Die LINKE Deutschland begrüßt die standhafte Haltung derjenigen SYRIZA-Mitglieder und -Abgeordneten, die am 15. Juli das Brüsseler Abkommen als brutales Austeritäts- und Privatisierungsdiktat von Merkel und Schäuble gestern im griechischen Parlament abgelehnt haben.
Das eindeutige Nein von 61% griechischen Bevölkerung gegen die Erpressungen der Troika und insbesondere der deutschen Bundessregierung hat den Menschen in ganz Europa Hoffnungen auf ein Ende der unsozialen Kürzungspolitik gemacht. Die LINKE hat dieses OXI öffentlich auch auf den Straßen und Plätzen in Deutschland unterstützt. Sie wird deshalb am Freitag im Deutschen Bundestag mehrheitlich gegen den dritten ESM-Kredit und seine neoliberalen Auflagen für Griechenland stimmen. Merkel spricht mit ihrem finanziellen Terrorismus für die Banken und Konzerne, die sie mit ihren Krediten retten wollte, aber nicht für die arbeitende und arbeitslose Bevölkerung, die dafür zur Kasse gebeten wird.
Die Antikapitalistische Linke unterstützt Euren Widerstand gegen alle Versuche, das Ergebnis des Referendums ins Gegenteil zu verkehren und vor den Erpressungen der Troika-Institutionen in die Knie zu gehen. Wir bleiben solidarisch mit Eurem Nein zur Austeritätspolitik, auch wenn dies den Bruch mit der Eurozone und dem Kapitalismus erforderlich macht.
